Manufacturing Process of Neodymium Magnets




Sourcing Raw Materials
The journey of a neodymium magnet begins with the sourcing of raw materials. Neodymium magnets are primarily composed of neodymium, iron, and boron, along with small amounts of other elements to enhance their properties.
Melt Spinning
The raw materials are then melted together in a controlled environment to create an alloy. This process, known as melt spinning, involves rapidly cooling the molten mixture to form a thin ribbon of the magnetic material.
Milling and Pressing
The cooled alloy is then milled into a fine powder. This powder is subsequently pressed into the desired shape of the magnet, such as bars, discs, or more complex configurations.
Sintering
The pressed magnet is then sintered, a process that involves heating the compacted powder to a temperature below its melting point.
Magnetization
